Tai Chi is often known as "moving meditation." Taoist Monk Chang San Feng developed a set that consisted 13 exercises, which all resembled movements of different animals. Although Tai Chi and Kung Fu may seem alike, Tai Chi focuses on meditation and internal force, thus is considered more gentle and soft. Whereas, Kung Fu emphasizes on external force.
Tai Chi also works on the concept of "Yin and Yang', just like Chinese Medicine, it supports and maintain the balance of "Yin and Yang" and the better flow of "qi". Tai Chi is said to improve health and well-being, from relieving pain to reducing stress. |

In Hong Kong, Tai Chi is often practiced in parks early in the morning. You can practically see traces of Tai Chi at every park from 6 to 8 in the morning. There is usually a leader and a large group of people following and imitating the movements from behind. Tai Chi is mostly performed by elders, it is rare to see the younger generation participating in this activity.
